A conversation about crystal meth and chemsex

Also called Tina or Ice, crystal methamphetamine is one of many drugs that are being used by gay men all over the world to enhance sex. It is not a new drug. But, since the arrival of the smart phone and apps like Grindr ten years ago, crystal meth for chemsex has become increasingly common in gay culture. You may use it for sex yourself. Or you may have seen it in use at a chemsex party. Or have a friend that uses crystal for chemsex.

This event will take place in the format of a conversation between a queer guy with experience of using crystal meth for sex, and a medical doctor and health researcher from the sexual health field. They will together ask themselves and answer different questions regarding crystal meth and chemsex that you may also want to share your views on, or learn more about. The aim of the evening is to create conditions for open dialogue between members of the queer community.

Examples of questions that will be talked about:
- What are the effects of crystal meth that are particularly suitable for sex?
- How do these effects differ from the effects of GHB or regular amphetamine?
- How does a typical chemsex session on crystal meth look like?
- Have the use of crystal meth affected your health in any way?
- How can you recognise crystal meth use at a chemsex party?
- Is it possible to distinguish different forms of amphetamine from the way they look?
- How can crystal meth can be taken?
- What type of equipment is used to take crystal meth?
